About Fei
(pronounced ‘Fay’)
I have always been fascinated with relationships and stories, and I have experienced the powerful potential for healing through them. After almost a decade in the corporate world, I went back to graduate school and discovered language for what my heart has been passionate about all along.
I identify as a 1.5-generation Chinese-American. I personally understand the complexity of assimilation while navigating the bicultural experience. Culture and language can play a big role in disconnections for first and second-generation immigrant families, as well as multi-cultural and multi-ethnic families. In addition, our own families have norms that come into play as well. I value diversity and desire to understand the significance of culture and the sensitivity needed in each client’s story.
I did not grow up in the church but faith became an important part of my life during college. I have experience in church leadership and have also experienced church hurt from church leadership - I am still learning to hold both. I honor my clients of any faith or worldview, and do my best to seek understanding through their lens. I am open to talking about spiritual issues and integrating faith as relevant to you.
My experiences as an Asian-American, a person of faith, as well as a professional clinician are forever intersecting. Life is a bit multi-layered and complex, which is why I prioritize building safety and connection in the therapy room. I believe it is only from there we can become open to exploring ourselves and working through challenges together. I feel immensely privileged to get to walk alongside others and to learn about relationships for the rest of my life.
Outside of the office, I try to stay active with my husband and our goldendoodle, Toby. When I can’t travel out of the country to experience new cultures, I enjoy exploring new local restaurants and coffee shops with family and friends.
